Hiam – Hokkien dialect word for 嫌，often heard in the form of mai hiam buay pai. It has negative conotations attached to it, well, because, it means you look down upon it, like it’s inferior, or not up to standard. Well, the thing I hiam the most, is myself.

Ironically, I don’t speak Hokkien, and I’m allergic to Heibi Hiam ( Singaporeans should be well-versed in this).
